Introduction and History in Brief
Venkatesh Mandir (Devasthan) is a Hindu mandir located in Gaushala, Batttisputali Kathmandu, Nepal. It resembles the Lord Tirupati Balaji of India.
Legend states that in 1898 C.E. Vaikuntha wasi Srimati Garudhwaj Ramanuja Dasi “aafuaama” and her husband Govindacharya made a pilgrimage to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in India, returning to Nepal with a small statue of Balaji (also known as Venkateswara, a manifestation of the Hindu Vishnu). Temple management states that other statues were also brought back from other visits.
Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants outside but you must be very good at bargaining.
The main attractions of the temple are the the beautiful architectural looks in the temple, on the top of the temple and the inspiring spirituality inside the temple.
Devotees can see statues of respective deities
Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva,Lord Ram Maa Sita. Laxman ji,Hanumanji Maa Durga , Lord Krishna Maa Radha and Balram ji.
As a Temple concern, the premises are always said to be full of devotees during Morning and evening pray.
Although,Temple is small and placed on the road as it is so beautiful and clean.
Temple people used to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as the environment is concerned.
But a passive worship is a total waste of your time and energy .
For True Worship ,a devotee MUST master the use of weapons the Deity bears.
Vishnu is usually depicted as four-armed with the four attributes in his hands: the shankha (conch), the Sudarshana chakra, the padma (lotus) and the Kaumodaki gada. A popular epithet of Vishnu is Shankha-chakra-gada-pani, “he who holds in his hands shankha, chakra and gada”.
Discus or Sudarshan Chakra: Vishnu’s gift symbolises the centre of creation.
Remember, for a Sanatani, Shastra (Weapon) and Shaastra (Holy Book) go together 🙏
