Introduction and History in Brief
Suryanarayana Swamy Temple Tiruchanur, which is one of the Sub Temple at Sri Padmavathi Amma Varu Temple, It is located right opposite to Pushkarini.
Having Left Vaikunta, Sree Lakshmi reached Pathala. She was worshipped by the sages there. Kapila built a temple for her. Lakshmi stayed there for a long time. Meanwhile, Vishnu wandered in search of her. He went from place to place and arrived at Kolhapuri. There even he could not find her. He found an icon of Lakshmi there. He stayed at Kohalapuri for ten years. Later on, one day, he heard a heavenly voice instructing him thus. “Go to Suvarna Mukhi’ south of River Krishna. Excavate a lake there with your spear. Do penance near the lake. Get some golden lotus flowers from Devaloka and plant them in the lake. Raise a garden with good plants on the banks of the lake. Recite either the single syllabled or the thousand worded invocation of Sri Hari. Worship goddess the Padma, with lotus flowers for twelve years. She will manifest herself before you, in a golden lotus blooming like a golden Lotus, as a girl of fifteen. You will regain your Lakshmi.”
Vishnu mounted his vehicle, Garuda, and floated on it to Swamy Pushkarini. He had a dip in the holy lake. The sages there extended a hearty welcome to him. Instructed by the heavenly voice. As desired by the Lord, Vayu brought some golden lotuses from Devaloka, the celestial world, obtaining Indra’s permission. The lotuses were planted in the lake by Sree Hari. On the eastern bank of the lake, Sree Hari Installed the Sun (Surya Narayana Swamy) and worshipped him offering One thousand golden lotus flowers. He recited the incantation ” OM-HREEM SREEM KLEEM” one thousand times a day. He offered Tarpana, a libation of water. He remained on a milk diet for Twelve years. Twelve years elapsed.
After worshipping for 12 long years, on Karthika Sudha Panchami, Goddess Maha Lakshmi emerged from a golden lotus shining resplendent as lotus.
Visitors and devotees can see many statues of holy deities like LORD BRAHMA, LORD SHIVA ,LORD VISHNU AND MAA DURGA.
Devotees used to come to pray to Lord Ram, Maa Sita ,Laxmanji and Hanumanji also.
Although,Temple is old and placed on the very beautiful and clean place.

The Temple is located at about 800 meters from Tiruchanur Bus Stop, 3 Kms from Tiruchanur Railway Station, 6 Kms from Tirupati Railway Station, 5 Kms from Tirupati Central Bus Station, 8 Kms from Renigunta Railway Junction, 14 Kms from Tirupati Airport, 73 Kms from Chittoor, 129 Kms from Chennai and 141 Kms from Chennai Airport. Tiruchanur provides rail connectivity and is one of the satellite railway station for Tirupati. Buses from Tirupati available for every 30 minutes.
Tirupati is well connected to major cities through national and state highways. APSRTC is the state-owned service, which operates buses to various destinations from Tirupati bus station complex. Tirupati is in close proximity with the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Hence, buses from KSRTC, TNSTC and SETC also operates their services.
