Introduction and History in Brief
The temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva situated in Shimoga Karnataka.
The Shiva Temple, also known as Kedareshwara Temple in Shimoga is an ancient stone temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in 11th century in the Shilahar kingdom, the beautiful temple is situated on the bank of river Krishna in the village of Khidrapur. It also houses a Swarg Mandap, which means a room without a roof.
This place is located near sakrebailu elephant camp and one can visit this place if anyone plans to visit sakrebailu. Temple is located on outskirts of the city of Shimoga. One of the beautiful temples in this place and the structure of Shiva makes this place more attractive.
As a Temple concern, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday are the day known for special Sai Pooja day. Temple is full of devotees particularly on Thursday.
Visitors and devotees can see many statues of holy deities like LORD BRAHMA, LORD SHIVA ,LORD VISHNU AND MAA DURGA.
Devotees used to come to pray to Lord Ram, Maa Sita ,Laxmanji and Hanumanji also.
Although,Temple is small and placed on the road as it is so beautiful and clean.
Temple people used to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as the environment is concerned.
