Introduction and History in Brief
The beautiful old temple dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva located in Morbi Gujarat.
One of the oldest hindu temples in morbi. Located on the bank of river machchhu. It is a very nice temple worth visiting. You will find peace of mond with beauty of nature here. Ideal place for relaxation. Big garden is attached where children can play & enjoy.
Shiva has pre-Vedic tribal roots and the figure of Shiva as we know him today is an amalgamation of various older non-Vedic and Vedic deities, including the Rigvedic storm god Rudra who may also have non-Vedic origins, into a single major deity.
Shiva is known as “The Destroyer” within the Trimurti, the triple deity of supreme divinity that includes Brahma and Vishnu. In the Shaivite tradition, Shiva is the Supreme Lord who creates, protects and transforms the universe. In the Shakta tradition, the Goddess, or Devi, is described as one of the supreme, yet Shiva is revered along with Vishnu and Brahma. A goddess is stated to be the energy and creative power (Shakti) of each, with Parvati (Sati) the equal complementary partner of Shiva.He is one of the five equivalent deities in Panchayatana puja of the Smarta tradition of Hinduism.
Shiva is the primal Atman (Self) of the universe.There are many both benevolent and fearsome depictions of Shiva. In benevolent aspects, he is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash as well as a householder with wife Parvati and his two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya. In his fierce aspects, he is often depicted slaying demons. Shiva is also known as Adiyogi Shiva, regarded as the patron god of yoga, meditation and arts.

Modes of Travel
By Air
Nearest Airport to reach Morbi is around 67 km away in Rajkot and 247 km away in Ahmedabad. A number of flights fly to and from here, connecting the city with the various parts of Gujarat as well as the country.
By Road
Morbi is linked to the rest of the country through a good road network. There is even a good network of National and State Highways connecting the city. Morbi is flanked by 8-A National highway. Various bus services including State Transport (ST) Corporation & Private Volvo AC buses are available to reach Morbi from all the major cities of Gujarat.
From Rajkot, you can hire a taxi/cab easily. You can use the taxi during your stay in Morbi and come back to Rajkot airport once you are done.
By Train
The nearest Railway station is in Wankaner (27 km from Morbi). Wankaner is one of the major stations for any train going to Rajkot. So you can alight at Wankner station. The local trains are easily available from Wankaner to Morbi.
