Introduction and History

The very small but well believed and old temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh as face of Bal Ganesha (Bal Vinayagar) like before the incident when elephant head was attached to his body by Lord Shiva. 

This shrine is situated in 85/70, S Car St, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu 608001.

Naramuga Vinayagar or Adhi Vinayagar Temple is in Muktheeswarar temple at Thilatharpanapuri which is near by Koothanoor in the Mayavaram Tiruvarur road. It is also known as Sethalapathy. The Vinayagar with human face is known as Adhi Vinayagar. 

The speciality of this temple is the Vinayakar found is named as “Nara Mukha Vinayakar”, which means He is found with ordinary human face instead of the elephant face. In this temple devotees are doing Thila Tharpana ritual which is the Hindu custom of Pithur Karmas. 

Visitors and devotees can see many statues of holy deities like LORD BRAHMA, LORD SHIVA LORD VISHNU AND MAA DURGA.

Devotees used to come to pray to Lord Ram, Maa Sita ,Laxmanji and Hanumanji also.

Although,Temple is old and placed on the very  beautiful and clean place.

Temple people used to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as the environment is concerned.
