Introduction and History

The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. This Mukkuruni Vinayagar Temple located inside of Nataraja Temple Complex near to South Gopuram, This Vinayagar Temple is a Architectural Marvel, Excellent stone carved work done  inside and outside of this Temple gave a beautiful look.

Lord Ganeshha – one of the most important spiritual spot is inside this Lord Shive temple located at Chidambaram. Lord Shiva here would be in the dancing posture and this temple is famous for the traditional dancing group. This temple will also have slight resemblance of Kerala style architect.

You can find all shops nearby to purchase all Pooja items and it’s cheap over at this place.

Ayers here are very commercialised and you can visit the god near and do darshan if u are ready to bribe them. If you purchase token for darshan, you will be pushed back as part of normal darshan.

At present the Mukkuruni Vinayaka shrine is a modern building constructed of polished granite. It can be dated with all probability to the late 19th century. This Vinayaka represents the Trimurti. Therefore this shrine has three stupi on the top of the shikharam or cupola. Mukkuruni means three (munru) times four measures (kuruni). On special occasions an offer consisting of three modaka made of four measures (kuruni) of rice are given as nivedya or food offer.

Visitors and devotees can see many statues of holy deities like LORD BRAHMA, LORD SHIVA LORD VISHNU AND MAA DURGA.

Devotees used to come to pray to Lord Ram, Maa Sita ,Laxmanji and Hanumanji also.

Although,Temple is old and placed on the very  beautiful and clean place.

Temple people used to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as the environment is concerned.
