Introduction and History in Brief
The wonderful sight of Lord Shiva on the land of Yagya takes place at the mythical site of Mankameshwar temple situated on the banks of Yamuna. It is believed that all the wishes made by the heart at Mankameshwar temple are fulfilled. According to Skanda Purana and Prayag Mahatm, there is a shrine to Lord Mankameshwar on the bank of Yamuna near the Vishaka Mochan temple to the west of Akshayavat. Who is considered a synonym of Shiva. It is a religious belief that where there is Shiva, there is Kameshwari. That is, Parvati also resides. That is why Bhairav, Yaksha Kinnar etc. are also seated here. Apart from being the pilgrimage of Kameshwar and Kameshwari, it is very important from the point of view of Tantric practice of Sri Vidya. The wonderful Shivling of Rin Mukteshwar and Siddheshwar Mahadev is established in the premises of Mankameshwar temple. Here Hanuman Ji Maharaj is seated facing south. Thousands of devotees throng here every day in the holy month of Sawan. There is a huge crowd especially on Monday Pradosh and special days of worship of Lord Shiva Parvati. Mankameshwar Temple performs its programs under the supervision of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati. The administrator of the temple, Dhananand Brahmachari, says that Lord Shiva himself established here after consuming Kama, there is a mention of Kameshwar Peeth in Skanda Purana and Padma Purana,This is the same Kameshwar Dham. He told that when Lord Rama got exile in Treta, Lord Ram from Ayodhya rested under Akshayvat along with Mata Janaki and Lakhan Lal. Before leaving from here, he had prayed to Lord Shiva to get rid of all the troubles coming in the way by doing sadhna and Abhishek here.

The same time, loan Mukteshwar Lord Shiva is established in the premises of the temple. In the Padma Purana, there is a lecture about the establishment of Karna Mukteshwar Shiva here. All wishes are fulfilled. The Mahant of the temple says that it has happened many times, when no one has been in the temple premises, the atmosphere has been absolutely calm. Despite that, the praises of Lord Shiva have been heard. He said that when Mankameshwar is in the state of sleep after the aarti of the Lord. Here the divine powers are guarded by the surrounding. Timing
Since the temple of Patalpuri is located within the complex of Prayagraj Fort, hence, the timings of the shrines are also the same as the fort. The must-visit temple in Prayagraj stays open all the days of the week and can be visited between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
The months of the winter season are the best time to visit Patalpuri Temple in Prayagraj. Starting in the month of October, the season enjoys a cool and pleasant weather condition that allows travellers to explore the region to its fullest. The season ends in the month of February.
