Introduction and History in Brief
Maleshwar Mahadev Temple is situated in Mahar Kala village of Govindgarh Tehsil, about 45 KM far from Jaipur. This historic temple of Lord Shiva famous by the name of Maleshwarnath Ji. Temple is small and has narrow passage to reach its core but it has a magnificent effect over soul. The temple was surrounded by mountains on three sides covered with lush green forest and a river used to flow beside temple.
The best season to visit this place is monsoon (End June – July – Early August) and winter (November – February). You will find a water fall along with the temple which enhance the beauty of this place. For Maleshwarnath Ji, don’t try to park your vehicle at nearest to temple, otherwise you will faced congested streets of village and may be stuck during return to your home. You must park your vehicle far distance from the temple, wherever you can find ample space, as there is no specific parking facility in whole. During my visit I parked my car approx. 500-700 meter away and then reached at temple by walk.
You should also visit Samod Hanuman temple (3 to 5 KM) whenever plan to visit Maleshwarnath Ji where you can ride the rope way to reach the Hanuman temple.
One of the most beautiful place with natural ambience of the Aravali mountains. A very old temple of lord Shiva (Maleshwar Ji) is situated in lower part of the mountains. In rainy season a seasonal waterfall starts here to enhance the beauty of the place. The temple also has the history of the attack from the Mugal emperor Aurangzeb. The Shiv Lingam changes it’s position every six months with summer solstice (Uttarayan) and winter solstice (Dakshinayn), this is very unique and of its own type of mysterious miracle. The water around the Lingam never goes down or come up from a level. Very auspicious and divine place, one should include in the list of must visiting places.
