Introduction and History
Lakshmi Narasimhar Temple is located about 55 km from Chennai and 21 km from Arakkonam, in Narasingapuram, Thiruvallur. The temple is dedicated to Hindu deity Narasimha, who is avatar of Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi. From the days of glory and grandeur that prevailed in South India the temple of Lakhsmi Narasimha at Narasingapuram still boasts the era of Cholas and Vijayanagara Rayas.
The main deity is vaikuntham vast perumal and the uthsavar is lakshmi narashimar. There are shrines for thayar worshipped as ahobila thayar and andal shrines on either side of the main sanctum. Their were lakshmi hayagrivar, anjaneyar, Rita, lakshmi narrow samedha sriramar shines in the main hall before the sanctum. All festivals are celebrated in grand manner here.
This Lakshmi Narasimhar Temple, is located at Palayaseevaram, a small village located about 20 kms from Kanchipuram on the road going to Chengalpattu.
The Temple is located on a small hill on the banks of the river Palar. There is a motorable road to ascend the hill.Parking facility is also there in front of the temple.
The main deity is Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar. Goddess Lakshmi sits on his lap.
Its a steep climb to the summit. A total of 1305 steps to be conquered to reach the hill top where the temple is situated. But it is worth the climb, the serenity of the temple and the beautiful views all around from atop the hill are worth the trek.
There is a separate Sannadhi for the Goddess on the Southern side…, goddess is Ahobilavalli Thayar. There is a separate Sannadhi for Goddess Andal.
Please do not miss this wonderful temple which has a fine location and surroundings apart from the Deity Lord Narasimhar.

The Lord is enshrined on top of a small hillock , Lord and Maa are majestic , during muslim invasion the utsava Murthy of Sri Vaeadaraja Swami temple was safe guarded here . It’s between Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram .

The temple is pray for the belief that the holy status of Maa and Bhagwan Narasimha appears from the soil by default. From then, the temple of Maa Laxmi and Bhawan Narasimha is praying by devotees here.

- The best way to reach the temple is by reach Madurantakam which is a town and a municipality in Chengalpattu district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The town is known for the artificial and second largest lake in Tamil Nadu, the Maduranthakam lake. It is said to have been built by the Chola King Uttama Chola, also called as Maduranthaka, during his reign.
- Madurantakam is served by town bus service, which provides connectivity within the town and the nearby villages. All buses are operating from the Bus stand which is located in the heart of the town. The State Express Transport Corporation operates buses connecting the town to other places like Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Uthiramerur, Thirukazhukundram and the places like Cuddalore, Cheyyur, Chunampet on the ECR routes.
- Madurantakam railway station belongs to the Chennai railway division and is officially coded as MMK. All passenger and local trains in Chennai–Villupuram route have a halt here and only a few express trains halt.
- The village Chitravadi is located in Maduranthakam Taluk of Chengalpattu District in the State of Tamil Nadu in India. It is governed by Avirimedu Gram Panchayat. It comes under Maduranthakam Community Development Block. The nearest town is Maduranthakam, which is about 7 kilometers away from Chitravadi.
- The village is connected by public bus services. Private buses services are available for the village.
