Introduction and History in Brief
The temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva situated in Durgapur, Rajasthan.
Hazaareshwar Temple, mainly famous for housing the revered Swayambhu or self-created Shiv Linga, is located in Durgapur Rajasthan near the delta formed by the confluence of Som and Mahi rivers.
This temple had gone to be ruin but later on some work and Nagar Parishad brought it to life. Now it is well maintained, has a clean area and a small garden to rest. Visit here in the evening or early morning for an auspicious and peaceful feeling.
The temple is a beautiful sacred place decorated with gorgeous idols of deities, which leave the devotees spellbound. As the temple is built along the roadside, it attracts a number of devotees on a daily basis. Visiting the place one could feel a sacred haven, a tranquil space that helps one to get relief from the hustle of the fast city.
As a Temple concern, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday are the day known for special Sai Pooja day. Temple is full of devotees particularly on Thursday.
Visitors and devotees can see many statues of holy deities like LORD BRAHMA, LORD SHIVA ,LORD VISHNU AND MAA DURGA.
Devotees used to come to pray to Lord Ram, Maa Sita ,Laxmanji and Hanumanji also.
Although,Temple is small and placed on the road as it is so beautiful and clean.
Temple people used to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as the environment is concerned.

Modes of Travel
- Located in the southmost region; reaching Dungarpur is not difficult. Tourists can either take a bus from any of the inter-state terminals or board a train from any of the Rajasthan state. Air travel should be avoided because the nearest airport is quite far and there are no regular flights from the major cities of India.
- By Airways: If planning a traveling to Dungarpur via airways than tourists has to be very particular about dates as there are no regular flights. Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur, 124 km away, is the closest airport. Foreign travelers can deplan at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, 146 km from Dungarpur.
- By Railways: Dungarpur Railway Station, 3 km from the main city, connects Dungarpur to all the major and minor destinations of India. Kundalgarh Railway Station in Kunda, 146 km away, can also be a good option to reach Dungarpur. The rail line between Udaipur and Ahmedabad in Gujarat runs through the town. Himatnagar-Dungarpur-Udaipur is an important train connection.
- By Roadways: From all the major and minor cities of Rajasthan and North India, buses are easily available for Dungarpur. The town is hardly 20 kiloemetrs away from the NH8, which runs between Delhi and Mumbai and the State Highway (Sirohi – Ratlam highway).
