Introduction and History
The divine Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva’s Vishwanath avatar that literally suggests ‘The Master of Universe’ is located in Guptkashi town of Rudraprayag district.
This is one of the well known ancient Shiva Temples. As per legends, the pandavas, who were in search of Lord Shiva to clear their sin of killing their relatives, located Him here..Bhim spotted Shiva here in the form of Bhainsa. 2 water streams are present in front of Lord Shiva. They taste different though the distance between them is hardly 2 m. These streams are known as Ganga and Yamuna. They fall into a Kund called Manikarnika kund.
The temple has one “ARTHANARISWAR” temple also.
Over all it is a very good temple with lots of positive vibrations and satisfaction.
Devotees can see statues of respective deities
Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva,Lord Ram Maa Sita. Laxman ji,Hanumanji Maa Durga , Lord Krishna Maa Radha and Balram ji.
As a Temple concern, the premises are always said to be full of devotees during Morning and evening pray.
Although,Temple is small and placed on the road as it is so beautiful and clean.
Temple people used to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as the environment is concerned.

Modes of Travel
Kedarnath is located in the state of Uttarakhand. It can be reached by road from the base Gaurikund. It has connectivity with some railway stations and airports. Here is how to reach Kedarnath:
By Air
The nearest domestic airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, about 239 km from Kedarnath and operates daily flights to Delhi. Taxis are available from Dehradun airport to Kedarnath. Nearest international airport is Delhi.
By Train
The nearest railhead is at Rishikesh, 221 km away. Pre-paid taxi services are available at the railway station which charge about Rs 3,000. One has to travel 207 km by road and the rest 14 km on foot to reach Kedarnath.
By Road
Visitors can board regular buses from Rishikesh and Kotdwar to Kedarnath. Private taxis can also be hired from these places. The National Highway from Delhi to Mana (538 km) remains open throughout the year. Kedarnath is also accessible by foot from GauriKund, which is connected by state buses to Rishikesh, Dehradun, Kotdwara and Haridwar. The bus fares vary depending on the season.
