Introduction and History in Brief
Gayatri Temple is situated at Dantewada region, Chhattisgarh. The managing god at Gayatri sanctuary in Dantewada city is goddess Gayatri, she is held in high regard by the devotees. The sanctuary witnesses exceptional supplication offerings made to the divinity on events like Dussehra, Diwali and on Navami puja.
In some puranas, Gayatri is said to be the other names of Sarasvati, the wife of Brahma.[18] According to Matsya Purana, Brahma’s left half emerged as a female, who is celebrated under the names of Sarasvati, Savitri and Gayatri.[19] In Kurma Purana, Gautama rishi was blessed by Goddess Gayatri and able to eliminate the obstacles he faced in his life. Skanda Purana tells that Gayatri is the wife of Brahma making her a form of Saraswati.
Few Puranic scriptures say that Gayatri is distinct from Sarawati and is married to Brahma. According to Padma Purana Gayatri is an Abhira girl who helps Brahma in Yajna in Pushkar.
According Brahma’s first wife is Savitri and Gayatri is the second. The story continues that Savitri became angry knowing the wedding of Gayatri with Brahma and cursed all the gods and goddesses engaged in the event.
The temple is a beautiful sacred place decorated with gorgeous idols of deities, which leave the devotees spellbound. As the temple is built along the roadside, it attracts a number of devotees on a daily basis. Visiting the place one could feel a sacred haven, a tranquil space that help one to get relief from the hustle of the fast city.
As Temple concern, Sunday is the day known as the crowded day. Temple use to full of devotees particularly in the Morning and evening during Aarti and Maa Gayatri Paath.
Visitors and devotees can see many statues of holy deities like LORD BRAHMA, LORD SHIVA LORD VISHNU AND MAA DURGA.
Devotees use to come pray to Lord Ram Maa Sita ,Laxmanji and Hanumanji also.
Although,Temple is small and placed on the road as it is so beautiful and clean.
Temple people use to follow all covid 19 protocols . Temple is surrounded by Lots of Trees and fresh air as far as environment concern.

Raipur and Vishakapattanam are the nearest Airports, which are located at almost equidistant by road from Dantewada at 400 KMs. Jagdalpur located at a distance of 80 KMs is the nearest mini Airport with limited flight services.
Bus
Dantewada is well connected with all major towns of Chhattisgarh Raipur to Dantewada is 400 KMs, and take 8 hours on public transport and 6 to 7 by own vehicle, condition of the road is very good.
