Introduction and History in Brief
The small and well believed Temple is dedicated to Lord Budh and the legendary Yellow Turtle.
Bulus Kiai Dhudha statue is a statue located in the Sendang Seliran Kotagede complex. This statue is placed on the edge of the dividing wall between the Sendang Seliran Complex and the Tomb of the Kings of Mataram Kotagede. This one meter high statue is a reminder of the existence of bulus (turtles) in this pool area.
Bulus Kiai Dhudha is a whitish yellow turtle that was originally found on Samas Beach, Bantul on December 11, 1973 by a local fisherman. Uniquely, the turtle only has three legs. This finding was then handed over by the Regent of Bantul to the guards of the Sendang Seliran Kotagede Complex for maintenance.
According to information from the Yogyakarta Kraton , bulus or whitish yellow turtles are a rare species and need to be protected. The peculiarity of the physical characteristics of the tortoise, by the surrounding community is considered a supernatural and sacred animal. Initially, in the Sendang Seliran Wadon, three large white turtles (turtles) were kept. They were named Kiai Dhudha, Kiai Jaka, and Mbok Rara Kuning. The three turtles are now dead, the last to die is Kiai Dhudha’s turtle. To immortalize the existence of Kiai Dhudha, a statue of Kiai Dhudha was made in the northeast of Sendhang Seliran Kakung. By Air
The fastest and the most convenient way to travel to Indonesia from India is by air.
